What is Coaching?

I’ve spent a lot of time on different hiking trails - Bet this isn’t the way you thought this answer would start, eh? Stay with me. Often, coaching is like hiking. Time that is just for you to think and feel anything you want, a way to challenge yourself and grow, an opportunity for clarity, an experience that offers mindset shifts, working with a guide that can help you find your way when you get lost or are unsure which way to go, and a pace that you set. It can be filled with sunshine and warmth as well as some bugs and blisters. But the end result is so worth it!

You can’t have progress without setbacks. You can’t have growth without discomfort. This is why it’s so important that you connect with your coach. It’s why it has to be a safe space for you to be yourself and explore where a coach is not driving their own agenda but leaning into exactly where you’re at, and most importantly, who you are. My coaching approach is about discovery, applying a curious spirit to exploring individual goals and barriers, unblocking anything in the way. I co-create actionable goals with accountability plans for radical responsibility and tools to get there. Because of my approach, progress can be made in each session. There is no reason why you should walk away with the same level of energy or approach that you showed up with.

For you left-brained folks out there, we’ll take a systematic approach where we:

  1. Uncover your true ‘who’. 

  2. Identify your goals and specific results you’re looking for. 

  3. Examine any barriers that are holding you back and where those barriers come from, what they mean to you, and how they’re serving/not serving you.

  4. Identify other opportunities to get you to your result. 

  5. Put specific strategies and targeted action-oriented plans in place to move you forward.

  6. Assess progress.

  7. Evaluate what is/is not working and pivot if needed to unlock your maximum potential.

 

What You Can Expect Partnering With Me…

There are no vague promises here. This is an outcome-driven, progress-making approach that arms you with the insights and tools you need to get where you want to go. With that said, it’s not about a rigid framework; it’s about you getting what you deserve out of hiring me.

 
  • A true partnership where I am the expert in the process and you are the expert in the progress

  • Accountability plans and tools to keep you moving forward. 

  • Safe, judgment-free, respectful, and confidential space to explore your thoughts and feelings.

  • Flex and flow in each session. We may start with one goal but let’s be real, life happens. In each session we’ll review what’s most important to you in the now. I’ll meet you where you’re at in each session and focus on the most important goal for you at the time.

  • The same warmth and approach as if I was sitting in the same room on the same couch as you.

  • Authenticity and vulnerability in who I am. I will always and only show up as myself. Permission to and expectation that you do the same. 

  • A clear rearview mirror of how far you’ve come and the progress you’ve made. Progress isn’t always easy but it’s always worth it. You can count on me to notice, measure and celebrate any progress you’ve made!

Offerings

  • Individual 1:1

    Focused sessions just you and me with my full attention, expertise and capacity dedicated to what you want to work on.

    What works best: I generally recommend signing up for a package which typically include bi-weekly sessions. Why? Coaching is about relationship and process. It takes time. It requires commitment, time and effort to reap maximum results.

    With that said, we’ll chat about what might be perfect for you (30 min vs 60 min sessions, weekly, bi-weekly or monthly and for how long) since everyone has unique needs.

  • Multi-Person Coaching

    Team = Working in a group setting with a specific group of people (the team) to achieve the team’s goals together.

    Group = Working in a group setting with individuals to achieve their individual goals.

    Parents and/or Partners = Getting coached together to achieve your mutually agreed upon goals together (e.g., better communication).

    Note that for couples or parents, we’ll complete at least one 1:1 session together with each person first so I can get to know you as an individual before the multi-person session.

  • Energy Leadership Index

    (ELI) ASSESSMENT & DEBRIEF

    (The researcher in me is obsessed with this one!) iPEC’s Energy Leadership™ Index (ELI) assessment is a research-backed assessment that provides insights into how you show up in various aspects of your life. It measures your ability to lead yourself and others to take positive, productive, and sustainable action.

    You’ll complete the assessment and then in a 60 minute debrief session we’ll be able to measurably report on how you are engaging in your day-to-day life, how stress may be presenting for you, where you may want to make some adjustments, and how you can intentionally work on forward progression.
